Overview

The Heat Elite is a company dedicated to the prevention of temperature associated illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke which are often associated with intense physical activity. Heat stroke can be a crippling condition causing irreversible brain damage or even death in extreme cases. Anyone that is subject to high ambient temperatures while exerting themselves is at risk for exertional heat illness. The demographics with a the high risk-factors for such illness include American-football players, firefighters, and military personnel. The high-intensity environment combined with the tenacious mentality of the people involved can often lead them to ignore early signs of heat illness and further over-exert themselves.

Firefighters, football players, and military personnel are at high risk for heat illness.

Exertional heat illness is completely preventable with the right education and technology. Through the utilization of The Heat Elite's innovative flagship product, the ThermaTracker, which wirelessly monitors both core temperature and heart rate of the user simultaneously, in conjunction with the proper education on the prevention and management of heat illness, many cases of preventable heat exhaustion and heat stroke can be averted.

ThermaTracker Computer Monitoring Interface

The ThermaTracker utlizes a light-sensing technology to measure the user's heart rate and infrared sensing to measure core temperature inside the user's ear. These techniques are both comfortable and accurate, and the wireless technology allows for a coach, trainer, fire chief, sergeant, or anyone else to monitor individuals so that at the first sign of danger, the user can be removed from the situation. The seperation of the monitoring and the alerting systems will prevent the user from ignoring the warnings and allow for a more objective individual to oversee the safety of the user.

The ThermaTracker is currently under development. Please check the Prototype section to learn more about the existing product concept or visit the Future section to learn about our plans for future developments.
